The Sweet Hurt, ‘Everyday Mistakes’
Filed Under Album Picks | 5 Comments
I don’t really know a lot about The Sweet Hurt, but I like what I hear
(that was really quite cliche)
Wendy Wang is the one behind The Sweet Hurt
1 track from her new EP.
I don’t really have much to say this evening so good night.

The Very Hush Hush, Mourir C’est Facile (2005)
Yeah that would be nice right now…To just be invisible or make everything else invisible…But alas just like teleporting neither has really been a part of this world’s reality. So I put my headphones on and turn it up so I can hear nothing else but the music…And yes I know this wasn’t released this year…
Disconnect from everything.

Challenge Club
Filed Under Album Picks | 1 Comment
So I was all set to finish up the “Rachel Rock Part II Mix” when I was distracted by the music of Challenge Club. Fairly a new band consisting of, George French, Billy Gordon, Steve Hefter, Pat Hughes, Chris Laun and Phil Turner; Six guys from Baltimore who will certainly grab your attention. I look forward to hearing more from them, but first I will continue to enjoy their most recent release, Briefe Description of the Notorious Life of Challenge Club (quite a long title indeed)
On another note…I have been suffocating in this Southern California heat…I was done with summer way back in June so you can imagine how over done I am now that it is September. Why can’t I live on a Glacier? Oh right because we are melting all of them!!!

First off, I have to take a moment to stop and applaud the name…Sol Seppy! That is the best name ever! Sophie who is well…everything that makes up Sol Seppy, born in England she seems to have been given a gift in regards to music…She has done some work with Sparklehorse.
She is lovely and this is a solid album, you can play these 12 tracks all the way through, which is rare…So tonight 2 stand out tracks from The Bells of 1 2…Enjoy, good night…

Also do take a moment to stop by the Contrast Podcast, Tim should be posting #23 any moment now. This weeks theme is “What” so all submissions, including mine (yes I take part this week) have to have the word “what” in the title. So do stop by if not to poke fun of my introduction but to hear some pretty cool music.

Ian Love, ‘Ian Love’
So I thought we could unwind the week while listening to Ian Love…I am glad today is coming to a close, work was busy, people were frustrating and it took me 2 1/2 hours to get home. It is 26.6 miles away, I mean come on…Why can’t I have my road? A lane? A lane would suffice…Please?Ok I will stop my belly aching now.
Ian Love is brilliant in so many ways…I do believe you will enjoy, good night.

A Swift and Simple Transaction
Filed Under Album Picks | 3 Comments
It is quite rare for me to decide the music that I post in anything less than an hour at least.
There are those few treasures however which seem to fall into my lap from the heavens above, then upon first listen I know, there is no doubt…
- Alexi Murdoch (Not a surprise to most of you)
- Trespasser’s William
- The Kooks
There are others but there are also different levels depending on first impressions, the number of tracks on the album that stand out in my mind and most importantly,”Does it age like a fine wine?”
Obviously R/R coseboom has been added to this list…”Beneath Trembling Lanterns”Â’ is the new album from Rebecca and Ryan Coseboom, which is their first album apart from their Halou project.
An intricate album that deserves and demands your attention…

AMBER SMITH, RePRINT
Quite a trying week
I think this would be my own doing
which is harder to take…
pride?
but why?
I have this desire to simply jump in my car, turn on my pod and drive…
go 100 mph the whole way to no where…
I feel so stuck
but I must be done with this pity party
Shall we move on? Yes I think we shall… Amber Smith came out with their new LP, Reprint in Feb. of this year, which was produced by the one and only Robin Guthrie from the Cocteau Twins. Guthrie’s ethereal touch certainly shines all through out this fine album. So tonight I invite you to take a listen…

*We are experiencing technical difficulties*
Rough couple of days…
And you can hear a freaking pin drop around here, sheesh. Speak up people, feedback is always welcome.
But since I like music, you like music and some people over there like music then even though my laptop seems to be in bitch mode, I thought I would share something I ran across recently, it was not released in 2006 (Gasp!) Rachel’s will leave you just in awe, my kind of music indeed.

Some may not be with me on this one because A Whisper in the Noise seem to have a somewhat eclectic rather dark sound. But I do think this new album deserves some attention…Tonight two tracks off their new album As the Bluebird Sings.
