Finally I took notice… Because I will be honest I never took notice of Laura Veirs. This Portland based singer-songwriter is making waves with her 7th full length album. Yeah that’s right she has been chugging along for quite some time. I took a look back at some of her older stuff and it seems she has really come to life on July Flame. Not sure what changed, but the infusion of her love-drenched lyrics and delicate piano/guitar melodies has me feeling like I am walking barefoot in a glorious meadow with unicorns. This album is fresh and beautiful. When it plays I envision a magical forest billowing out of the speakers. Well done fair lady, well done.

I like this song. Been a fan since 05/06, so I feel like an oldtimer. DId you give a good listen to Year of Meteors? I love that from beginning to end.

I’m going to d/l July Flame later. Can’t wait to hear it!

Nat, I listened to Year of Meteors from beginning to end and I feel like that was probably her best album before July Flame came along. I really feel like her music evolved into something so much deeper on July Flame.
I think you will love it.

Tara, :-) I thought you would like. Enjoy! Get it at eMusic forgot to add the link.

Got July Flame. Yep, you’re right. She stepped up the game with this one, and I didn’t think this was possible.
