Currently re-visiting the Radiohead catalog. I go through Radiohead frenzies… It is really like coming home. I have found over the years though that I tend to miss my dad more listening to some of their older stuff like The Bends and OK Computer but it is much more comforting then it is sad…

That is really it for this Sunday night… Just basking in their greatness, I know that not everyone will agree with me but I have to say Radiohead is my number one favorite band of my generation.

Hail to the Thief 2003 (Capitol)

I have been waiting for the release of this album for months and boy did it not disappoint. IRM was produced by Beck and his musical influence is perfect for this French born artist. The album is fantastic from beginning to end mixing spacey Beck melodies with Gainsbourg’s beautiful vocals creating a refreshing new sound and direction for Gainsbourg, one in which will land her on many year end lists. It may be early in the year but I am quite positive that IRM will be on my year end list hands down. Enjoy!

Wow! I woke up in the worse mood this morning. Just annoyed with every little thing that is coming at me. Watch out people, I bite! I am bummed for so many reasons… One of them being that this glorious rain we have been receiving is on its way out. I have loved every second of it and I know that saying, “all good things must come to an end” but I don’t want to hear it right now.

Radiohead is putting on a benefit concert for Haiti this Sunday in LA @ The Fonda. I wish I was in a position to bid on these tickets and help out the people of Haiti as well as see my loves. This is just not an option right now for me… Which is completely depressing but I am very pleased that Radiohead has taken time out of the studio to do their part to help this country in peril. If I could I would be there in a split second.

In other news the new Eels album was released this week…

I totally wish I was more excited for it, but unfortunately only a few songs off this 14 track album made it on to my playlist. Mark Oliver Everett the bluesy singer-songwriter is not quite at his best on his new album, but there are a few noteworthy tracks to check out so I wouldn’t ignore it completely by any means. You never know, it could always grow on me.

Hopefully this day will pick up… It’s Friday anyway so that is indeed a good thing.

I was not ready for today… Still sick and all I wanted to do was hang out in bed and listen to the rain as I attempt to breathe. I probably should have stayed home… Not sure what I was thinking.

What is helping me get through the Monday blues? The Up In The Air Soundtrack. It is a great Soundtrack and if you have not seen the film yet, please do. I know you will not be disappointed. This is a great song from Sad Brad Smith, really the center point of the soundtrack. I kind of can’t believe it didn’t get a nod from the Academy but they have a tendency to shaft some of the good stuff (to put it nicely).

I am sick again… I might just cry about it. I am coughing with a tickle in my chest and a sore throat. How is this possible? I am drinking a lot of hot tea and soup… Hopefully this will just be a cold and nothing too long and drawn out.

Faded Paper Figures can cheer me up though with their delightful and charming indie pop. This album was released back in 2008 and if you like The Postal Service I have a good feeling you will enjoy this threesome.

I hope everyone has a very healthy and happy weekend. I will return next week…. There are some very exciting new releases coming up and I cannot wait.

So… I have been a very bad blogger. Not posting is like the biggest sin in the blog-o-sphere. What should I say? Forgive me blog readers for I have sinned?

Anyways… Dealing with a lot of family stuff right now. Grandma is moving in to her new condo here, Mom is stressing… Just trying to be there for everyone and still remain sane. Change is a hard thing to accept and sometimes I think it is harder to watch someone go through it… I was driving to work yesterday and this song shuffled on, it put me right at ease. I am sure some of you will find his voice to be familiar… Julian Plenti of Interpol released his debut solo album in 2009. I was turned on to it through Richard over at one of my favorite blogs To Die By Your Side. I am not the biggest fan of Interpol but I became quite a fan of this solo effort. xX

So this year I have decided that my New Years Resolution is going to be to give up using the F word… Pause for reaction. Some of you who know me and talk to me everyday are probably chuckling to yourselves right now… I curse like a sailor and I use the F word as if it were a common word such as “the” or “I”. The excessive use has come to bother me primarily because of the word having lost all meaning.  It is a great and versatile word, but it should still be used sparingly.  This is my resolution, we shall see how I do.

The Swell Season… I am such a sucker for these two. Their new album is really quite beautiful and I highly recommend picking up a copy if you haven’t already. It almost made it onto my year end list but missed it by a couple of tracks. Enjoy!

I have been sick since Thursday… Yep that is correct, the last 4 days of my vacation were completely ruined by a horrific case of bronchitis. I have basically been lying in bed for the last 4 days watching terrible television, snuggling with whatever cat decides to join me, coughing, aching, tossing and turning and quite frankly I am ready to pull my hair out. If this is any inkling into what 2010 has in store, can I just go back in time? Hopefully this means I am getting it out of the way? That is what I keep telling myself anyway to get me through. Anyways, I am on the mend. Hopefully I will feel good enough to drag myself out of bed and into work tomorrow but I sound like a frog that has been smoking for the better part of its life…

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and a fantastic Holiday. I am so sad it is all over, this is my favorite time of year… I don’t really have anything new from 2010 yet but I figured I would share some of the stuff I am still catching up on, one of them being Sea Wolf’s 2009 album, White Water, White Bloom. Which if  you love Bright Eyes you will probably love this second full length album, for me only a few choice tracks made it onto the iPod but still an album to note.
