Caribou just makes you feel good…I just want to say, “Weeee!” They kind of have a 60’s pop sound mixed in with a little psych rock. If Belle and Sebastian tickle your fancy then I would certainly recommend this 4 piece band from Canada (Another band I recommend that hails from Canada…How many is that now Mentok?) I love their soaring energetic rock, it’s like a drug…You just want it to take you as high as it possibly can…Not that I know from experience. ;-)

I’ll chime in and say that this is a really good album, one that’ll surely make my top ten at the end of the year. I don’t think the Belle and Sebastian is the comparison that I’d make, though. “Andorra” has the ghosts of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys hovering in the background and updates their influential melodies and harmonies with very subtle psychedelia-laced electronica. Somewhat similar – yet very different – to Panda Bear’s “Person Pitch” album released to much acclaim earlier in the year. A good year for those like Brian Wilson and reinterpretations of his music.

Yeah I can’t agree with the similar but not comparison to Panda Bear but a solid album all the same. Certainly a contender for year end lists everywhere.

I’ve totally lost count. You should know that for anything Canadian to be treated as cool by ppl elsewhere kinda freaks us all out… like Bill Gates being told he’s sexy, if you see what I mean. Yet it seems to be happening all over. Really seems to be our decade.

Or you all might just be trying to suck us in… the typical bait-and-switch bully move ;-)
