I think Radiohead is my favorite of all time, I am going to go ahead and stand by this statement, so it’s official Rachel’s favorite band=Radiohead.

I was going through my mp3 files *cough* checking to make sure all songs were properly labeled and organized…Yeah, I know I have no life and I am fully aware of my OCD tendencies so save your psycho analysis for some other chap.

The Bends quite possibly might be my favorite Radiohead album but I hesitate to order any of their albums because no matter how many times I have heard any of their album(s) I still experience it differently, new light is shown, a different perspective is seen or another emotion evoked with each and every listen. Quite simply nothing compares…

Bulletproof… I Wish I Was
Limb by limb, tooth by tooth
Tearing up inside of me
Every day, every hour
I wish that I was bullet proofWax me, mould me
Heat the pins and stab them in
You have turned me into this
Just wish that it was bullet proof,
was bullet proof

So pay the money and take a shot
Lead-fill the hole in me
I could burst a million bubbles
All surrogate and bullet proof
And bullet proof
And bullet proof
And bullet proof

– Radiohead 1995

The Bends is The One for me too. And I thought I was the only one who obsessively fixed mp3 labels…

Sweet now I don’t feel so odd. :)

I’d say Radiohead are my favorite band also but im torn between Ok Computer and The Bends as my favorite album. Agreed “High and Dry”, “Fake Plastic Trees”, “Black Star” and “Street Spirit” are amazing tunes, but then I look at Ok Computer with “Paranoid Android”, “Karma Police”, “No Surprises” and “Let Down”. Hmm tough one. So, one of those anyway.. nice post

    SNAP!!!!

I’ll see your love of Radiohead and match it.

    My favourite band.

But my favourite album … hmmm …. let me think … I might say Kid A … no … ok computer … no hail to the thief … no the bends … oh i don’t know!

All i know is that you shouldn’t trust people who don’t like Radiohead. There’s something wrong with them.

Thanks Jake OK Computer is right up there with The Bends and Kid A indeed. “Karma Police”, “No Surprises” both brilliant! Thank you!

HA! I love it, I want it on a shirt, that would be awesome. :)

I’ll hafta mea culpa on not being terribly fond of Radiohead. Actually, I don’t mind the music, but too many mopey emo types have put me off the band (present company NOT included, of course ;-)

Too many people seem to use (or rather abuse) that band to validate exaggerated angst, I reckon.

But that’s their problem, I suppose. The tunes are quality, there’s no denying that.

OK, speaking of abuse, let the Mentok bashing begin! ;-)

Damn emo kids ruin everything I shit you not. I think that a lot of times their lyrics are mis interrupted or stereotyped with an emo taint, which is a shame because part of their brilliance is in the way they create their music for listener interpretation.

the dreaded “emo taint”. that’s a good one.

emo taint? i think there was a porn called that once…

Matt, I think you’re thinking of Elmo Bait, the classic Sesame Street porn.

The Bends is definitely my favourite Radiohead album, with Fake Plastic Trees my fav song. Love OK Computer of course, but Kid A I didn’t like and I found The Eraser hard to enjoy too.

I never got Radiohead. I even tried again recently, but it didn’t work.

Must be something wrong with me, since all of you other armadillos seem to understand and delight in them.

*Sheds a tear, curls up into a ball*

  13. Rachel on January 26th, 2007 10:57 pm

Wayne I love Kid A! But that’s alright the differences are what count. ;-)

FiL, I swear to you tears just welled in my eyes. You know you are the greatest Armadillo ever! Times 10 even. But maybe we should sit down sometime and discuss the depths of Radiohead. ;-) And you can give me the depths of Sufjan and we will see. hehe

I do that all the time with Pearl Jam albums…what my favorite one is today will certainly not be tomorrow.

Although, I’m glad that you like The Bends the best. That make two of us…and only two!

in the minute 3 of the song bulletproof…. there’s a strange chorus which isn’t in the lyrics.. and i’d like to know exactly what that means..

i find it a very nice song.. and i’m a fan of radiohead as well.. it sounds a lot when i say that all day when things are hard their songs start sufferning for me.. so that spares me and not only i escape from all this shit.. but also i end up marveled by those tunes…

bulletproof is a song which is like a friend that i’ll always count on..

    e mail me at

i.me.mine.g@gmail.com… if you have the answer that’ll be cool..

    thanks
