Spoon Fed

I wanted to post “Leftovers Part 2” this evening but I guess we don’t always get what we want right?

People suck! And by people I refer to the clients that called me today…

“Hi, this is so and so, from blah blah and I was wondering when we were going to receive a proof. I submitted it on Monday and I am going to be gone ALL next week and I wanted to send it to print…”
She MUST know that every single one of the other clients I handle submitted on Monday as well right?

…I can’t tell you how hard it was for me to hold back, “FUCK OFF!!!” on the 5th or 6th call, I couldn’t even talk because it took everything I had to hold it in. Then this one client called and rubbed the fact that she was taking all next week off as well (even though I have worked with these people for the last 10 months and I know for a fact they have taken plenty of fucking time off! It must be nice right?) So I ask her when she will be departing tomorrow…9am.

FUCK YOU!!!! You will have a proof awaiting you in the morning!

And to top off this HOLIDAY BULLSHIT tra la la hell…I am seriously over playing chicken shit with the rest of the people in the office in answering the phone, I lose consistently and it is sad.

Yeah so I am going to bed…Here are a couple of tracks from Spoon, off one of my favorite albums, Gimme Fiction (2005, Merge).

Two Sides / Monsieur Valentine (mp3 expired)

I Summon You (mp3 expired)

Gimme Fiction [Get It]

It is raining here though that brings a smile to my face, other things that bring a smile to my face:

Coxon posted his “Favourite Songs of 2006” over at his blog To Die By Your Side

Marcy posted her “Favorite Songs of 2006” over at her blog Lost In Your Inbox

Charlie posted his “The Best 30 Singles of 2006” over at his blog Nerd Litter

And Marcy has a post about Jesus and sticks…Just kidding heart on a stick says send in your lists for the 2006 Music Bloggregate (you can find out more details if you follow the links) :P

Alright good night!

I hear ya, sister. Went through much the same thing myself yesterday. To top it all off, my boss had a bad cold a couple days ago. We all begged her “don’t come in! You’ll just make us sick during the holidays.” Did she listen? Of course not. So today I’m home with a wicked head cold. At least I get to blow off all those people phoning up with their “last-minute-itis”.

Mentok, I knew you would understand this rant. I am sorry you are all stuffed up…Take some Echinecea and Zinc. And tell your boss she is an idiot, she probably got nothing done that day besides get everyone else sick.

drainpip, do you know what happened to the last guy who called me “babe”? ha
I am glad you like the goodness that is Spoon. Thanks for the support.

And for an update, I came into work and got no word from the client. So I officially wipe my hands, merry fucking christmas.

Oh dear, so you got stuck in the pre-Christmas stampede as well. Sigh, it ain’t no fun…

Deep breath, do try to enjoy the time off, paint your armadillo green and red in celebration, and contemplate the wide open possibilities that 2007 will bring!

i can hear you screaming all the way across the country–and i join you in your pain! but it’s not doing much for my desire to go back to work, i’ll tell you that. ;-)

i hope you get to relax for the next couple of days at the very least. much peace and love to you. : )

Remember when you told me about “no boss day”? “No stupid clients day” is right around the corner.

Apparently every blogger hates work and the stupid people there. Just take a deep breath and scream into a pillow.

tad, thanks I appreciate that, I know there are better times to come indeed. :)

FiL, *deep breath* ahhhh yes, thanks I needed that calm positive perspective indeed. :)

mjrc, yeah sorry about that, I was so pissed. But don’t worry, you will find a great job it might not be right away but eventually you will find the perfect place to help you thrive. I obviously haven’t found mine…After the new year I will also be searching for the same. :) Thank you, peace and love to you as well.

Andy, oh this is a great idea, we should totally have “no stupid client day” that would be sweet. And actually, I did scream, just screamed in my car as I was driving far, far away for the weekend. ;)
