The Submarines, Declare a New State!

June 20th was the magical day that The Submarines blessed this world with their new album, Declare A New State on Nettwerk Records…There is a delightful little story about these two on their site that explains how this album came about. For me to post it here seems just kind of redundant…*sigh*I feel blue this evening…So I am going to drift off to sleep…

OH BUT WAIT! What did I do last night? Well I listened to the new
Contrast Podcast #14 You should listen too!

Aimez-vous la langue française ? Vous savez que je fais.

Don’t ask me to translate! Ok fine it says, ‘Do you like the French language? You know that I do.’ See it sounds so much better in French.
Just go now! Hurry, you will love it, I promise.

Now, without further adieu…

Perfect. This music fits my mood so perfectly tonight… it’s just fantastic. ‘Darkest things’ is particularly, amazingly, amazing…

Vocals on ‘Hope’ remind me of Slowdive a lot – what Rachel and Neil used to do so well together…

And as for the written French, well… you write that so much better than I ever could… not one mistake I bet :)

PS, sorry, meant to say… that Kooks song ‘Match Box’….

‘…We’re going to walk all over your cars…The Kooks are out…’

Can’t get that line (and what comes next) outofmyhead…

    In a good way.

Aha. So Colin is hanging out over on Rachel’s blog too!

I’m super glad you enjoyed the Contrast Rachel. Next week’s one is full up, but I’d love to hear you submit something for a future one! Please say you will!

‘…We’re going to walk all over your cars…The Kooks are out…’
    ‘…out in the streets
Oh were gonna steal your signs’
Oh! And I love the ending…
    ‘Don’t come too close
You don’t wanna see my ghost
    Your turn but I’m betrayed
    By you my sweetheart’

I find the Kooks and that particular song, Matchbox to be infectious. Great stuff, I was impressed.
Although I would love to live in a world where I never make any mistakes…That is just not realistic
    *sigh*
Thanks for bringing about the smiles.

Tim, seriously? Your not simply pulling my leg?
I would be delighted! *blushes* I am all giddy with glee. :)

Listen to Tim. If Colin, Coxon, and I can do it, so can you!

In fact, I think the blogiverse would be a happier place if you were to share your musical taste via Contrast. You know it makes sense…

Oh, and the Submarines are grand! Nothing like a spot of naval maneuvers to get one ready for sleep. “I’m on a submarine mission for you, baby”

Oops, wrong song. Trying to process way too much…

Sigh. Jim-jams on, brush teeth, teddy under arm, bed.

    Snore…

I’ve heard of the Submarines but never listened to them. Perhaps I shall download them.

Fil, you always make me laugh, especially when you say words like
    ‘jim jams’

Thank you for the support dear Fil, I have been thinking of you, hope all is well.

Cinnamon Spider, I highly recommend it.

Michael, I am pleased you enjoyed them, thought you might. Hope you have a lovely weekend as well.
