I Can Hear Your Music
I got on the freeway tonight after work and it was backed up for miles, quickly exited and headed South to the coast. I took Pacific Coast Hwy all the way home, and enjoyed the cold crisp night with the window slightly open and my ipod shuffling. I realized how lucky I am and what an amazing and privileged life I live… I am taking Pacific Coast Hwy home from now on.
I have been listening to The Memory Machine for a couple of weeks now and it is just beautiful from beginning to end. Julia Stone‘s vocals are angelic, hushed and delicate.

That’s a gorgeous track. Her vocals remind me of someone I can’t quite place, sort of like a medicated Bjork. It’s another album to add to the queue! And, you need to take pictures of this route. Pacific Coast Highway sounds like it needs to feature in a scene from a David Lynch movie. Or perhaps it already has?!? x
“a medicated bjork”–only colin could come up with that!
apropos of nothing, the decemberists have a gorgeous song called “california one/youth and beauty brigade” that’s about the pacific coast highway that’s well worth listening to.
I will post pictures in another post. “Medicated Bjork” I like that.
Marcy, I have heard that song and it is just perfection. So befitting for driving on the California Coast.
I love taking PCH from Seal beach home, going south just as the sun is setting is the most breathtaking, calming, fulfilling drive. I think taking it home more often is a great idea. xo
Love this album art. But her voice kind of bugged me. But you know me, I’m finicky about female vocalists. I like the melody a lot.
It is sweet and best taken in moderation. xx
actually, i’ve now got it – she sounds like bic runga with a heavy cold and a 40-a-day habit.
