I melt when I hear Laura Marling sing… Melt into a puddle on the ground. Her smokey singer-songwriter folk songs combine with deep complicated lyrics, impressive… Beautiful. I love this new album…

Great record. Can’t decide if I prefer it to her debut or not. Maybe they’re both as good as each other!

I prefer the debut; it’s just a bit fresher. The new one sounds like she’s dabbling a little too much in traditional folk styles – which is fine, but on top of that the debut has about 7 songs I dig heartily, and the new one only 3 or 4.

Her debut album is fabulous indeed. I missed it when it first came out but went back and listened to it recently when I found this new release. UK goodness!
