Quick update: What I am currently listening to is the new album from the super group Broken Social Scene. Only 7 members participated in this 4th full length from the Toronto based band and I think it is their best album to date, more refined I suppose. In the past I felt like there were so many hands in the pot, it was kind of all over the place. This album seems a lot more cohesive which in turn makes it easier on the listener. Some fans (like Marcy from Lost in Your Inbox) may disagree, we will see. :-)
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers of the world. Enjoy your weekend while listening to some great music I hope.

i’ve got this funny anticipation about this record. like, what if i don’t like it? i’ll be so disappointed! the only reason i haven’t heard it yet is i’m hoping to get it as a gift for mother’s day. :)
I think the song ‘All to All’ is amazing. I love it! There are a few other songs on the album that I like. Most of the other songs don’t really grab me in any way. I’ll see if it grows on me…
Marcy, I think that happens to us all from time to time. The anticipation and expectation can kill it. Let me know what you thought.
Cate, upon first listen I only liked 2-3 songs then second listen I grew to enjoy another 2-3 songs. There are a few tracks I just deleted because I couldn’t stand them like Chase Scene but other then that I felt like there were some real stand out tracks, World Sick, All to All, Sentimental X’s (Feist, Emily Haines and Milan sing together on Sentimental X’s) were just a few of my favs.
It’s growing on me.
Their least instant record so far but that may, in the long run, be a good thing.
If only I could find the time to actually listen to it more!
