Oh Zee Avi
I have had a headache off and on for the last 3 days… Not fun. I needed something soothing and relaxing this evening. Zee Avi is a delicious singer-songwriter who was basically discovered via YouTube according to Wikipedia. How awesome is that? Very. She was signed to Brushfire Records and her debut album was just released in May. There are a handful of beautiful tracks and I look forward to listening as her music grows. Just lovely, lovely music.

I know, I adore that song too
Malaysia is certainly proud of Zee Avi for making it to the USA. It’s great reading about her on Untitled Records. Greetings and love from Malaysia :)
Hi Kingsley, welcome! She is delightful indeed. Go Malaysia! :-)
YAY! i try to check your site at least once a week, but i forget! and then i get little surprises like this. i feel in love with her music when she was on youtube, and you know how i’m a brushfire nerd, so imagine my excitement when they signed her!
i actually just saw her live last night, and she was phenomenal. matt costa’s bassist, harris pittman, along with an amazing drummer (whose name i cannot remember for the life of me. if he toured with matt i would know! ahaha) accompany her for a beautiful set. the crowd was really attentive, and although i think most of the crowd was really unaware of her beforehand, i think she really impressed a lot of the crowd.
also, i’d like to take a moment to say what a wonderfully sweet girl/lady/woman she is. i can personally attest to the fact she’ll do anything for her fans. she’s adorable.
oh, and BEAUTIFUL. with a great sense of fashion, as well hahah
Thanks Kallie for that show update. She seems like someone I would love to be friends with and I love her music :-)
She plays in LA I think all the time I will have to catch her one of these days, it is just so difficult to get from the OC to LA on a weekday with my work schedule. And of course all the good stuff plays during the week unfortunately.
i’m really bad about replying promptly…can you tell? hahaha
and YES! my friend whom i had coerced into attending the show with me said the same. zee went out of her way to make sure we could get in (the details didn’t say 21+ but when we got there, they were hesitant & told us it was going to be a busy night, so no, we couldn’t go in, but they’d let us sit outside at the outdoor tables. booo. but i thought, hey, better outside than no side, right?), and then after her show, we talked for about 5 minutes; she’s just THE most amiable, likeable, and genuine person.
and PATOOEY. i’m sorry. AND SERIOUSLY. why are all the good shows during the week?! it’s hell on school days, i tell you. skipping uni classes for concerts is frowned upon in most social circles. BOOO, I SAY, BOOOO.
yes i agree. zee is warmly frenly.
ive been to her gigs in kl. and she is such an adorable person.im glad,to know that she carry that same charisma eventough knowing now she is a lil more famous then before.
yeah. she kinda like someone that we can comfortably befriend with :)
p.s i do love the way she dress n pick her clothes.her style sense is so relatable to mine, i dont just her music but i think everything about her is so admirable.
