Oh Sweet Sweet Beirut
Where the hell have I been? Asleep at the wheel obviously because what did I see when I logged in to emusic? The new single from Beirut, Pompeii! It is available at emusic and it is nothing like Gulag Orkestar or the Lon Gisland EP; both tracks incorporate a little electronic sound; proving that Zach Condon is only just beginning his journey down the road of musical greatness. So I must lift my glass and toast Beirut as they continue to reinvent their sound and define their very own genre of music.
I give you one track for your sampling pleasure, it will only be available to download for a limited time.

Certainly is different.
And pretty darn good on first listen.
May need a few more spins. But then so did the debut. Nice to have you back. Sorry I’ve not been commenting as much but life has been hectic.

A few more spins later and I have to say this song is ace. I may even go so far as to say it’s my favourite Beirut song yet!
Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
Coxon, thanks I am so very pleased you are loving the new Beirut sound, it has been on repeat over here.
And do not fret my dear life is hectic and I totally understand the commenting thing, I hope you know I am always checking in as well at To Die By Your Side
“Ace Film” Indeed, couldn’t of said it better myself. And Magnolia was the first PTA film I saw and I have been a die hard fan ever since. Cheers!
