I can be in the yuckiest of the yucky kind of moods but no matter how pissed I may be the music of Belle & Sebastian seems to cheer me up instantly. Before I know it I am dancing and singing my heart out to their fan-fucking-tastic ;-) bubble pop music.

    Amen to that, Sista Armadilla!!

By the way, cultural observation of the day: in the UK, ‘pissed’ means drunk. Indeed, if you’re seriously intoxicated in that country, you’re ‘as pissed as a newt.’ If you’re nearly comatose from booze, you’re ‘as nissed as a pewt.’ Brits who are angry are ‘pissed off.’

To quote George Bernard Shaw, “England and America are two countries separated by a common language.”

Haha! Seperated by a common language indeed…Although I must say that the Brits have their shit together in regards to spelling, America appears to have been absent for the spelling 101 lecture. :-P Color(US) Colour(UK) Logic is a good thing.

When you get home dear FiL, do let me know what you think of that “Eyes of Love” track, if you haven’t heard it already.

in the interest of broadening my musical mind, i’m going to give these songs a go, but i can’t promise anything. i think they may simply be too perky for me, which, all things considered, probably isn’t all that hard to accomplish, but still.

i picked up “fold your hands child, you walk like a peasant” not too long ago and am ever-so-slowly listening to it. it seems a little less “up” than the life pursuit. would that be a correct assumption?

oh, and this has nothing to do with anything, but when i was leaving jesus a comment, the word verification was “upherxp,” which i thought was fab, and frankly, who else could i tell something so absolutely silly to but you and fil? : )

For a minute I thought you were exaggerating or being ironic about the peppiness, but you weren’t. Fun!

‘Bubble Pop Glee’ – that is the best post header I’ve seen in a long, long time.

    10 points to you!

B&S, of course, rule in that fan-fucking-tastic-weegie-way.

It’s all the rain – it makes them practice-perfect.

PS, Re; ‘pissed’ meaning drunk – I much prefer the use of words such as ‘mortal’, ‘steamin’, ‘guttered’
etc (you know, devolution is such a wonderful, beautiful thing…)

    PPS, ‘weedgie’ = Glaswegian.

    *sigh* – that’s weegie without a ‘d’ (shouldnae post when ah’m mortal…)

I had a professor in college who pointed out that in English any word or, for that matter, nonsense sound can mean ‘drunk’ if preceeded by “a little bit”. Try it with word verification. It’s hours of fun, especially if you’re a little bit wycnyn at the time.

Mentok you may be the only one who noticed my peppy song picks this week. And that whole “little bit” thing works perfectly, that’s awesome.

And sweet! 10 points to me!!! Thanks!
