And although 3epkano doesn’t deem their debut album an EP…I think it should be considering it is 6 tracks with a running time of 31 minutes but I wanted to mention this Self Titled album again because I think it is one of the better instrumental indie-rock albums of this year. Check out the website for some free downloads.

jeez rachel, once again i only know 2 of these. more work to do – and i havent even done the old work yet.
I was gonna call you out on the Beirut EP since it doesn’t even come out until January (and I haven’t heard it), but I see the vinyl has been out since last month. Heh.
So I guess it’s fair game for next year too!
Excellence…
your par for course is a hole in one…
I didn’t even look that up on a book of bad metaphors, I totally made that up on my own just now.
a drainpip original. tm.
i think i’ll be sitting next to Don’t Need Anything in that class…when is our assignment due?
Matthew, what the hell? Get to work then geez :)
Rich, hehe I was wondering if someone was going to say something about that. I was debating it, but with it bein g available online and on vinyl I couldn’t resist, check out Carousels it is fantastic. And yeah I say it is fair game for 2007 too. Hopefully that won’t be it from him though…
drainpip, lol no that was a good metaphor…if I was golfing. hehe
I am so kidding, thank you. Pleased you like Sparrow House and Beirut. :)
tad, stop slacking off man! ;) What am I going to do with you two?
But if you really need an assignment to get you motivated then…I can give you an assignment but it won’t be easy. haha
quite a few i have to check out there, i do love the little ones and voxtrot can do no wrong. have you heard the lovely sparrows?, that is one of my fav EP’s this year.
you know, i was going to do an EP list, too, but i decided to go ahead and stick my favorite one in my album list instead. hope it still counts. ;-)
i feel like i’m a bit out of it, too, as i am unfamiliar with a lot of these. maybe they are from early in the year? could that be my excuse?

Excellent choices! Rosewood Thieves and Le Firm are my favorites.
Wayne, I have heard the lovely sparrows and I was really considering putting them on the list but while I was going through everything I just didn’t listen to their EP as much as these other ones. :)
Marcy, you can most certainly group your selcted EP’s with your album list, it is your list after all. I wasn’t going to originally make up an EP list but it all just came together…:)
And I am glad you don’t know all of these…If there are some band introductions, that makes it all worth while.
Mooney, I just had deja vu…Because I remember seeing this EXACT comment on another post I did which mentioned The Rosewood Thieves…Do it again and I will report you.
Andy, thank you so much! Glad you like. And the members of Le Firm are a cool bunch of guys, if you want check out their myspace. :)
Wow, a 2006 EP list too! That’s impressive!
I heartily agree with the Beirut placement – deserves to be up top. I also particularly liked Le Firm’s post-punky vibe. And The Sparrows’ lo-key motoring is rather groovy.
Sigh, I’m feeling that I should chuck out a list of my own now. Chances are it’ll be a rather unstructured, amorphous one, but hey, it’ll be mine and I’ll love it.
Argh, feeling exhausted. Bed. Now. Maybe I’ll be lucky & the dog will curl up next to me and keep me warm.
Oh, and thank you for the lovely birthday shout-out!!
Great List! But no Arctic Monkeys (or “Arcade Monkeys” as I keep calling them?) I’m so happy to be introduced to all of these!
